The foundation of my creative process is attributed to my persistent online usage. I was introduced to my first computer by the age of 6, and through this time I witnessed the online world transform from a place of empowerment and personal expression, to what I believe is now the source of society’s deterioration. Through my art, I want to highlight the myriad of ways technology has transformed our sociocultural perspective. I aim to examine how despite being in an age where we can connect with millions through technology, we have been left with what feels like the greatest period of social alienation in history. I want my art to reflect a world of shrinking attention spans due to constant digital stimulation, by experimenting with how much one can convey an idea or emotion in the fewest number of lines.

Through this choice, I am able to express the characteristics I value most in my art: sleekness and precision. I achieve this through the use of bold lines to contour, shade, and detail; giving my sculptures, drawings, and paintings a graphic-like quality. In order to illustrate the various ways the information age has impacted us, I plan my pieces digitally and then execute them physically with analog techniques. By attempting to replicate something rendered through software, the perfection of computer graphics is then altered by the personal touch of humans, highlighting the beauty that comes with working in the material world. Along with this method of practice, my work then shares the same place of origin as the issues it seeks to expose.
